Dematting Brush FAQs

Of course! The EarthCare Dematter works great for removing tangles from cats with longer coats.

Dog pin brushes feature long, rounded metal pins that are designed to penetrate through the topcoat to gently remove tangles and mats. They are particularly suitable for dogs with medium to long hair lengths and can help keep their coats looking smooth and well-groomed.

Yes! Unlike rakes or slicker brushes, dog pin brushes are designed to be gentle on the skin, making them suitable for dogs with sensitive skin. The rounded pins help prevent scratching or irritation while effectively removing tangles and mats.

Dog pin brushes help distribute natural oils throughout your dog's coat, resulting in a healthier and shinier appearance. They also aid in removing loose hair, debris, and tangles, promoting a well-groomed and lustrous coat.

While dog pin brushes can help remove loose hair and minimize shedding, their primary purpose is to prevent tangles and mats. To address shedding specifically, you may consider using a deshedding brush in addition to regular brushing with a pin brush.

Dog pin brushes are generally suitable for dogs with medium to long hair lengths. However, it's important to consider your dog's specific coat type. For dogs with short hair or very sensitive skin, alternative brush types may be more appropriate.

The frequency of brushing with a dog pin brush depends on your dog's breed, coat length, and activity level. In general, regular brushing sessions a few times per week are recommended to maintain a well-groomed coat and prevent tangles or matting.

It's generally recommended to use a dog pin brush on dry fur. Wet fur is more prone to breakage and brushing it may cause discomfort or tugging. Wait until your dog's coat is dry before using the pin brush for a pleasant grooming experience.

Yes, cleaning a dog pin brush is relatively simple. Use a comb or your fingers to remove any trapped hair or debris from the pins. If necessary, you can also wash the brush with mild soap and water, ensuring it's thoroughly dried before the next use.

Yes, dog pin brushes can be used on puppies. However, ensure you choose a brush that is appropriate for their size and coat type. Start with gentle brushing sessions to familiarize your puppy with the grooming process.

Great brush!

I have a poodle with very thick curls and slicker brushes seemed painful. After a lot of research I chose this brush and we are both very happy with it! My little guy seems much calmer with this one too!

Nice well made brush

I have a slicker brush for our poodle and schnauzer but they fight to get away from me. This brush detangled well and the dogs tolerated it better.
I like that it is well made from sustainable materials and supports small business. Good brush for the money. Shipped quickly too!
