Minimum Expectations for Suppliers

At Toe Beans^®, we seek to work with suppliers who share our commitment to responsible business practices, product safety, environmental stewardship, and supply chain transparency. While we recognize that suppliers may operate in different regions and industries, we expect all business partners to comply with applicable laws and maintain ethical standards consistent with the values outlined below.

Labor & Human Rights

Suppliers are expected to:

• Prohibit child labor, forced labor, bonded labor, and human trafficking.
• Comply with all applicable wage and labor laws.
• Compensate workers fairly and provide legally required wages and benefits.
• Maintain workplaces free from discrimination, harassment, abuse, and retaliation.
• Respect workers' rights to lawful freedom of association and collective bargaining where permitted by law.
• Provide working conditions that protect the health, safety, and well-being of employees.

Environmental Responsibility

Suppliers are encouraged to:

• Comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
• Minimize waste, pollution, and unnecessary resource consumption whenever practical.
• Responsibly manage chemicals, emissions, and waste streams.
• Seek opportunities to use renewable, recycled, recyclable, compostable, certified, or otherwise environmentally responsible materials.
• Support continuous improvement in environmental performance.

Product Safety & Transparency

Suppliers are expected to:

• Provide accurate information regarding product materials, ingredients, sourcing, and country of origin.
• Notify Toe Beans® of any material changes to products, manufacturing processes, or sourcing practices.
• Maintain appropriate quality control procedures and comply with applicable product safety regulations.
• Support transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain whenever feasible.

Business Integrity

Suppliers are expected to:

• Conduct business honestly, ethically, and in compliance with applicable laws.
• Avoid bribery, corruption, fraud, and other unethical business practices.
• Respect intellectual property rights and confidential business information.

Toe Beans^® values long-term partnerships built on trust, transparency, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to creating safer and more sustainable products for pets and their families. Preference will be given to suppliers that maintain recognized third-party certifications related to environmental stewardship, responsible sourcing, product safety, animal welfare, ethical labor practices, or supply chain transparency. Examples include certifications such as USDA Organic, FSC^®, PEFC^®, GOTS^®, OEKO-TEX^®, RWS^®, GRS^®, USDA Certified Biobased, and other equivalent standards that demonstrate a commitment to responsible business practices.
